Welcome to the Department of Land and Nature Resources (DLNR)Virtual Field Trips!

The best way to experience Hawaiʻi’s natural areas is to be there in person. The second best is to use our virtual field trips and virtual reality content. Click on the links at the bottom of the page to launch a tour. If you end up inside a photo, make sure to click and drag around to take a look in 360˚.

Course Description

In this course, you will find a growing number of virtual field trips produced by the Department of Land and Natural Resources. Each virtual field trip is aligned with the Nā Hopena Aʻo framework and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). In addition, HIDOE teacher-created lessons will added throughout the year to support teachers in using these unique place-based virtual field trips to meet course standards.

How to Get Started

There are two ways to access this course:

Use the public link to view the Canvas course and share the Virtual Field Trip pages directly with your students. You can copy the lessons into your own Google Drive to edit and share on Canvas or Google Classroom.
You can go to Canvas Commons and import this course into one of your own Canvas courses. You can then edit the content to meet the needs of your students.
